Historical: Willie was raised in the bush by his uncle Charlie Tjungarr

Who brought the family at Haasts Bluff in late 50’s.He is the younger brother of

Yala Yala Gibbs.Willy commenced painting in 1976 and is recognised as one of the senior Pintupi artsists.

Painting: Willie began painting at Papunya around 1976, since then his 

 painting has developed to a distinct line-dot style.Tjungarrayi paints Tingari of his ancestral country .
