Birthsite: Makinti was born south of Kintore at Lupul rockhole.
Historical: Makinti’s first contact was with a group of men travelling on camels. She walked into Haasts Bluff with her husband Nyukuyi Tjupurrula (Nosepeg Tjupurrula brother) before Papunya was established.
Painting: Makinti began painting with Papunya Tula in 1996 however had painted previously in the Kintore-Haasts Bluff project in 1993/1994. Her paintings often depict the travels of Kungka Kutjarra (two women), with the lines representing the hairstring skirts worn during particular ceremonies.
